Swinging Girls!

hi & welcome!

today i'm just feeling comfortable...

it was a lovely sunny morning

and i enjoyed a cup of tea on a friend's verandah,

then unexpectedly met up with another friend while out shopping

and had another chat...

i do love connecting with people..especially friends

and what better way to connect

than over a cuppa!

the special thing is

that all my friends have something precious

that is just theirs

and they take that with them

wherever they go...

you have that something precious too

and you bless me with it when i read your comments

and laugh with you and admire you on your posts...thank you.

i mentioned the other sherbet pips cushion i made

on saturday's post...so here she is

'swinging girls'!

i would love to be one of those girls...

swinging under a tree

feet not touching the ground

dreaming dreams and enjoying

rushing to the ground

and then

just before crashing

the swing lifts

and pushes against gravity

sending you

soaring to the sky....bliss!

i am liking these rectangular cushions..

i think they fit neatly into the small of your back

as you sit on the lounge or your favourite chair.

&

they're just a bit unobtrusive on a chair

fitting in and not taking over

or finding a spot alongside a pillow on a bed...

just sliding in, rectangle next to rectangle.

i must have had too much of a good time today

i'm getting a bit whimsical here

with my imagination taking flight

about the oddest things..hehe!

still i love it

when i can smile on the inside

and let my loony side spill over occasionally..

well ok,

most days!

Today I'm Loving..

a bird in the mango tree at dawn!

i'm grateful for...

the smell of...coffee

the sound of ...people singing in church

the taste of...a choc coated icecream from hungry jacks

the sight of...mr w home for the weekend

the feel of ... a warm snuggle on a cold morning!

i hope your weekend was one you were grateful for too!

Scooting Along!

good afternoon!

yesterday was a wipe out..

my connection to blogger was under reconstruction..again.

i couldn't write a post or comment on yours!

so i read your blogs and finished off a cushion or two

and

won a few battles on the telephone..haha!

a friend forgot we were having coffee together,

so i felt rejected..and then got over it..lol!

today though, it's all good.

mr w is home for the weekend

and i had someone warm to snuggle up to on a cold night..yay!

blogger works again..yay!

we have just spent the morning shopping..big yay!

and i've just eaten a very healthy yummy chicken salad for lunch..yay for me!

so the world is ok again.

i've never made a rectangular cover before

so this is a first for me..

i've never made a little frilly end on one before either..

so another first!

i love the puppies running after the scooting people

the scarf fabric that matches the scarves on the people

so cute!

the next one is all about girls on swings...

that just about sums up my week,

full of ups and downs!

sometimes i need weeks like these though

so my head shrinks to where it should be

and my ego doesn't get in the way of my life..too much..hehe!

it's always difficult at the time to learn the lessons of life

but is better in the long run.

i hope you didn't need as many life lessons as i did this week..

good morning!

'tis a blue skied sunny day

here in southeast queensland,

not quite as hot as it could be..

more like warm in the sun and very cool in the shade.

it's late morning and i've hung out the washing,

done the washing up

and played with and fed the dogs!

a couple of days ago

this came in the mail for me...



it is all from cheryll at 'gone stitchin'

cheryll produces great patchwork and embroidery

and is an old hand at swaps and rak's.

{and so receives many goodies herself!}

this 'random act of kindness' swap

was organised by maree from 'on my verandah'

at the very beginning of the year..

or was it the end of last year..i've forgotten!

it's funny though how any committment i make like this

seems to come around much quicker than i expect it to

and then everything gets left til nearly the last moment..oh well.

i've never really had anything monogrammed before

so this hand towel and face washer

are a real treat...

i love the little key cover too

and the mit will be ideal for the rough skin on my feet.

i always use those nylon balls when i clean my face

and i needed a new one..how did she know?? haha!

that is a sweet wee notebook too
