A Tiny Feather...

 

hello!

 

 

a tiny feather

found it's way onto my windscreen this morning.

i noticed it

as i pulled out from the school driveway

and onto the main road.

 

 

it was right in my line of vision...

spot on really,

i had to notice it.

 

 

 

i was fascinated.

it was so small and perfect.

i wondered what kind of bird it had belonged to

and why it had lost it.

overthinking really.

 

 

 

i realised i was willing it

not to let go...

not to get bumped off

or loosened by the wind

and carried away.

 

 

 

i realised i was not concentrating on the road

as much as i should be.

 

so i stopped.

gently pried the tiny feather off my windscreen.

placed it carefully on the seat beside me

&

took it home.

Shop Open Again!

hi..ain't this cute?

i found it in a department store in taipei

and just had to bring it home.

it's tag says 'attitude..not just for fun'.

the bird sitting in the bush is a magnet

&

the leaves on the tree and the bush

are three small notepads.

i love it...it is a very cool souvenier of my trip there in january

(as well as being irresistably and very neatly wrapped up in brown paper inside a little box...hehe)

my madeit shop is open again finally...

i really love my new london tube cushions

but didn't really have anyone in mind to give them to

&

nowhere particular in my home to put them

where they will look their best,

after all there are only so many cushions a girl can have,

no matter how much she loves them!

so i am selling them as a set in my little shop.

sometimes i just have to make something

just because i want to...

i hope tomorrow is just as windy as today

'cos i was thinking it will be a wonderful day to get my washing dry quickly.

hopefully there'll be something a bit more interesting

happening here on the weekend as well...

and at your place too..hehe!

Cate's Cushion!

last week...

{it'seemed like such a long week..i can't remember what day}

i got three georgeous parcels from the postie..

all containing cushions.

what with having to fill in paperwork for the tiny job i've been given..

{who'd a' thought it'd take so much time ~fiddling around over two days~

to fill in papers for such a little job}

and trying to get a few more cushions done myself..

and ordinary things like shopping

and regular commitments...

i never got photos done or posted of the cushions that came...

i apologise to cate and mindy and caroline.

anyway..today..i thought i'd start with cate's
'tweet'...

very 'tweet' {sweet} indeed...

all cate's little birds are sitting on a running stitch wire

and each bird is handstitched beautifully with blanket stitch.

i have noted that there have been little comments she has made

trying to tell  us that she's not clever 'n' crafty...

but now we know better!

please forgive me for not showing much 'on the black couch' anymore...

but due to people living in my front room

my black couch is covered with all kinds of 'stuff'

and is now hard to get to!

so

this time and perhaps in the future..

i shall have to take photos

'on the pink blanket'!

i am extremely grateful for the help of

everybody's contributions of cushions and fabric...

we have sent well over 50 cushions out

with another dozen to go this week...

i couldn't have done it without

you!

so i'm joining in with the saturday's grateful posts

Patches, Birds & Flowers!

good morning!

yesterday, just as i was selecting cushions for theodore,

gwen's package of cushion covers

made it to my front door...

all the way from connecticut!

in it were 4 cushion covers...

and two from her mum, cindy.

a more traditional pattern with soft florals....

'dresden heart'

and 'diamonds'...

they fit the bill perfectly for one of the women up north,

in flood affected theodore...

so 'birds' and 'dresden heart' and 'diamonds'

were bundled up again and posted

with twelve others to help where they were needed.

All Lovey Dovey!

last week,

very early one morning...

when the dew was still thick and white on the grass,

two doves were doing their moves...

on a nearly wordless wednesday!

i suspect these two are presently building nests

and preparing to raise a family...

who'd a' thought it at 5.30 am

on a sunny queensland morning!

....singing 'two turtle doves'...

now i'm off to find the partridge in a pear tree...

'cos today is my dad's 80th birthday...

i just want a few minutes of your time today...

to wish you a very happy birthday...

and a wonderful year ahead !

you deserve the best !

a little while ago...

i made something for you,

handmade especially for you!

i sent it off to new zealand early

so the big old aussie moths

wouldn't get stuck into it over summer!

{the stamps weren't french!}

mum has probably given it to you by now....

just thought...

you can use it over your knees when writing those radio articles in winter...

or take it on picnics...

or put it in the spare room!

anyway

i hope you enjoy everything

that today will bring!
