A Handful of Blue Irises!

good afternoon!

do you ever buy flowers for yourself?

i do...

these reminded me of a trip down to south australia

where i saw handpainted signs at murray bridge

advertising blue irises in bunches by the roadside...

maybe they were grown there

and came all the way to queensland

to be bought by me,

this morning!

i love my vase cuff,

sent to me earlier this year

by teje..from crete,

blog owner of 'nero's post & patch'.

it covers up the waterline

giving a streamlined look to a vase of flowers..

it is unique and handmade, 

 from felted wool...

brilliant!

England Swings!

good afternoon!

i can't say i've rushed to complete these,

but today they're done.

as soon as i spied this fabric collection..and

this isn't the half of it,

i loved it.

i loved the jazzy name that rebekah merkle called it,

"england swings"

and i loved the seemingly eclectic look of it,

different styles and colours

all vying for attention!

a georgeous trio...

comprising of two 40cm or 16" cushions

and one 45cm or 18" square cushion.

 in threes or pairs..or standing alone,

they work!

little red bobbles flip flop across the seam at the top!

i must admit

i would love to see a real english summer garden

with blooms of rich colour

and the deep emerald green foliage

and soft grassy knolls.

i think i would enjoy

the history and formality of england

&

of course,

spying

a few mad englishmen

strolling

out in the midday sun!

but i will have to dream of england a little longer

&

satisfy myself with 'england swings'

&

perhaps a few english comedies this winter

or a bit of  'back to the country' on tv.

at least after a foggy morning

the sun has warmed us all today...

and there are plenty of kids about

enjoying their holidays.

Hi Chai!

good evening!

the other day

while trawling the supermarket shelves

i came across

this...

for about five bucks

it's magic.

this chai elixir

makes chai lattes

just like the professional ones

with the right mix

of spices...

exactly the way a chai latte should taste.

all you do

is heat up milk in the cup

{using your microwave..not more than 2 mins}

and add 15mls..a tablespoon

and stir.

voila!

simple!

i am grateful for cold days

to enjoy chai lattes in..

relief to my coughing and spluttering

and making me warm inside.

soon enough up here in queensland,

the days will be too warm to enjoy hot drinks

and i'll be looking for elixirs

to make up ice cold drinks i suppose!

so i'll make the most of the icy weather

to enjoy my newfound mate..

and a few weeks more of chai lattes

cappucinos and italian hot chocs to come.

i'm partying with 'maxabella' tonight...

yesterday!

i tried and tried

in the end

i just gave up for the day...

hoping that this morning

would be different,

and it was.

have you ever just wanted to capture an image of something?

yesterday i bought some beautiful pears

and just wanted to photograph them all in a row..

why?

i don't know..but i just did.
