A Tiny Feather...

a tiny feather
found it's way onto my windscreen this morning.
i noticed it
as i pulled out from the school driveway
and onto the main road.
it was right in my line of vision...
spot on really,
i had to notice it.
i was fascinated.
it was so small and perfect.
i wondered what kind of bird it had belonged to
and why it had lost it.
overthinking really.
i realised i was willing it
not to let go...
not to get bumped off
or loosened by the wind
and carried away.
i realised i was not concentrating on the road
as much as i should be.
so i stopped.
gently pried the tiny feather off my windscreen.
placed it carefully on the seat beside me
took it home.
what did you do this morning?
naturally Carol xox

  1. It is so tiny and so sweet. This morning I ran some errands and then came home and have baked a cake and slice. Wishing you a happy Tuesday. x

  2. Oh, I am so glad you saved it! It was a sign meant for YOU! It is lovely and tiny~ I painted for the first time in forever and it was fun! I made a huge mess, lol!

  3. So lovely! It is so important to take note of the small and amazing. Also, important to pull over :)

  4. I love that you stopped and took the little feather home ! I've not done much with my morning yet - still in bed sipping a cup of hot tea & reading my blog list on my iPad - it's only 7am :-) But off to my Pilates class later .... Have a lovely day, xx

  5. Hello Carol:
We LOVE this. How perfectly wonderful.

  6. You take my breath with the unexpected and insignificant yet succinctly sweet.

  7. What a lovely little story Carol, I do enjoy your posts... just wish I had more time in the day to be able to read all my fave blogs. I think that little feather was meant for you Carol... and funnily enough, I sometimes do thing like this too xo

  8. That's the sort of thing I do. I always see feathers as a sign, of what I'm not always sure, but I think they find you for a reason - to make you think of something. I don't know, maybe I'm silly!

  9. So sweet, glad you did pull over though otherwise it wouldn't have been such a sweet tale!
I tidied out the childrens' cupboards today .. having a purge at the moment!
    Have a lovely week xox

  10. This morning I had a cup of tea while the sun was rising, then took Rilla for a walk up the paddock, fed the baby chickens & Turkeys, all in varying stages of growing up; fed the cows, cleaned the trough, all the usual animal chores, but I enjoyed it none the less and each morning is different. You never know which animal will need what, or what the day holds.

  11. Noticing the small gifts of beauty is important isn't it?

  12. I love this. Life's joys really are found in the small things.

  13. I never cease to be fascinated by the perfection of the most miniscule feathers, I'd have had to stop too!

  14. Although if I could spell minuscule that might make more sense!

  15. I always have to rescue those feathers too :)

i am delighted that you care enough to comment..i love to read each one of them..thank you!
