Grateful for...

people...

family is always first when
you ask people who they are grateful for...
that's true.

friends are always next on the list...
that's true too.

often i've found
i appreciate strangers!
people i don't know now
are potential friends.
sometimes miracles happen in my life
through strangers!
sometimes strangers appreciate things about me
that family and friends overlook,
and that encourages me!

i found this today in an email
and i'm grateful to be reminded :)

love people use things
not
love things and use people.

i'm grateful for you today...

  1. I agree, it's encouraging to hear compliments from strangers. And that saying, wow. I must admit I'm in the process of withdrawing from "things". The misplaced attention is often too consuming yet the rewards fleeting. Happy weekend!

  2. Sometimes it's actually harder to remember to be grateful for family...but really, they are the ones who love us unconditionally (which is why I took some time out to appreciate someone special today) I love your quote too :-) xxx

  4. So true. In recent times I've discovered just how easy it is to make someone's day. To complement them on their nails, their childs' manners, their dress sense or whatever. And when the same is done for me, it really lifts me.
Makes me realise how much power we have to depress or lift someone with just a few words.I live mindfully, so even if the world is exploding around me, there are things that I can love. Keeps me sane. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Carol, this is so true. I don't think we give strangers enough credit for the amazing role they play in our lives. I always liked the expression "a stranger is just a friend you haven't met". Aside from being careful around strangers, I try to instill that belief in my children. It opens up a world of promise, rather than a world of fear.

Thanks for linking up today. x

  6. Love this saying. It's so true. And how many people do we know that do just the opposite? Love the work of good strangers. xx
